Apprentice Uniforms are special items a Apprentice Witch wears. As she progresses towards being a witch, she may or may not gain more uniforms and will eventually earn the witch costume upon finishing her training. With each upgrade comes stronger abilities and magic usage.

In the series, six apprentice uniforms are shown, with a few more gained in the light novel.

The first season

01.01

The original apprentice uniform started out very simple. It was composed of three types of one base color: normal, light, and dark. The dress is the normal color with three layers of "petal" skirt, which come mainly in the normal color with two lights surrounding one dark. The petals at the arm hole are normal on top, light in the center, and darker-colored on the bottom. The boots and gloves are dark with the hat being the normal color. On each wrist is a rainbow pearl chain, while the apprentice tap rests at the center of the chest and a pair of dark earrings. The dresses collar is dark colored to match the band around the middle of the hat.

For the apprentice to change into this form she hits a chain of notes on her tap, causing it to float into the air and change into the dress. The apprentice grabs it and pulls it on while her original clothing vanish. She jumps up to form the gloves and boots, then poses after she gains her hat.

In this season the uniform was made to resemble the original, but with a flower design to fit the theme. This uniform gains a fourth color, this being white to accent the outfit further. The dresses skirt has four petals with two in the front and two in the back. Two smaller light-colored petals are visible underneath over the ruffled skirt. The sleeves are the same as the previous season, while the tap rests on a white collar. The gloves and boots are dark colored with white flaps over them and a lining of lighter coloring. The hat has a light flap on it and a white band, but the hat color and earrings remain the same.

For the apprentice to change she has to clap the tap and tap it against the various body parts she wants to gain the outfit pieces. Then she hops up into the dress while her clothing vanishes and pulls on the hat before posing.

During the season there was an emergency upgrade uniform. Once the apprentice has proved themselves worthy she can gain this. It reverts the color scheme in that it is primarly white with the users color theme now pastel. The top has two folds of material on top of a pale section where a badge rests. Then below it are white leaves with small petals going up around, and at the bottom are two pieces of skirt, ruffled along the edges with thin dark leaf shaped petals above it. From the back are long, light ribbon material. The sleeves are shaped like small wings. The boots and gloves are all white, lined with a dark trim. The hat is white with the flaps being light colored.

To change to this form, the apprentice will cast Magical Stage and with the Queen's aid, will appear in a magical spinning flower that opens up as she grabs her Wreath Porron and poses.

Motto

This more detailed uniform was made with the intent to show the girls maturing compared to the past two seasons. It has gone back to the three basic theme color, with a pastel main base, a darker shade, and a lighter color. The top is light colored with princess-puff sleeves and a lining of dark ruffles. A tiny, dark vest is worn with a small emblem holding it shut. The skirt is composed of two short layers of petal, which come in the three colors. The boots and gloves are light in color with darker accenting, while the earrings remain the same. The hat is light in color with a dark band and lighter flap.

To change into this uniform, the apprentice must use her bracelet and ring. She starts by clapping her hands, then rubs down her legs to form the gloves and boots, then as they spin around the dress forms as their outfit vanishes, then the hat and earrings appear.

To fit their baking theme, the girls apprentice uniforms have been made reverseable. It is a non-complicated outfit to keep out of her way while baking and resembles a bakers maid uniform. It is a white dress with ruffles and puffed sleeves with lining of the girls main color. Around their neck is a scarf of their theme color to match the lining on their apron, which has a bow on their back to match. The boots are white with musical notes etched in at the top and the bottom being their signature color. They gain a maid styled hat that is white with ruffles of their color and an intercome attached to the side of the head with the orb it's held on their color.

To change in this uniform, the girl can toss it into the air to switch it inside out, or just rub the various parts onto their body with a single spin to form the dress.

Dokkan

This was the final apprentice outfit the girls gained. It once again included four colors and had many button-based accessories. The hat gains a white flap with dark buttons going up the side and a dark band while it is colored the girls assigned color. The top resembles a T-shirt styled dress with the skirt being a tutu of two colors, white and the darker assigned color. Over the upper skirt is a pale colored flap-piece with dark lining. A row of buttons goes up and down the chest. At the waist is a belt and the perform tap rests on a flap-piece over the upper chest. The gloves are the main assigned color, but the wrist is white with lining of dark and a few buttons; with the boots matching .

To change into this uniform the girl uses her Perfume Tap and sprays it before spinning around. In a single sweep everything appears.

The light novel uniform was based off of the first seasons outfit. While the dress is more form-fitting, the earrings and hat remain the same while the gloves and boots are severly lengthened. Worn with the boots are pastel colored stockings.

The girls also gain slightly altered patiss outfits for baking, and Hana-chan was shown to still have her previous uniform from Dokkan.

Hana Makihatayama

04.01

During the events of Dokkan, Hana-chan gains her own magical apprentice uniform with the help of the other girls after she ages herself up. The dress is mainly white, which is her theme color, and has accenting of pale yellow. The dress has puffy sleeves and is lined with light ruffles and bows. Her tap resides on her chest, while the skirt is a two-layer tutu with pale yellow under the white. The botos are white with ruffles around the top and small wing-shaped attachements. The gloves are plain white with her magic bracelets on each wrist. Her earrings are a pale color and her hat is plain, but shaped like a pair of cat ears. The back of her dress has a small pair of angel wings.

For Hana-chan to change the apprentice use Magical Stage and lend their power to her. Her compact opens up to reveal their crystal balls inside of it, and with her backpack the dress appears. As she pulls it on, the boots and gloves appear. Then the tap and hat form and she poses.

Fami

Fami uniform

Fami-chan from the final episode of the entire series.

In the final episode of Naisho, and the final episode of the anime overall, Fami reveals that she is also a witch apprentice. It appears to be very different from past outfits as she came from the future. It was shown entirely in the shadow, with only minor detailing shown up-close. This has led many fans to draw what they think it looks like.

From what can be seen, the top has a white frilly collar with dark colored ruffles and a big gold orb that rests at the center of the chest. The sleeves resemble that of the first seasons but are dark, pale, and white and cover more of the shoulder. The collar is dark in color and is folded up behind the neck. This uniform has really long gloves and the hat looks like any other hat but with a softly-curved flap. The earrings are droplet shaped.

Non-chan

Non-chan's uniform

The other apprentice uniform to appear in the anime belongs to an ill-girl the Ojamajo met through Doremi. It resembles the original apprentice outfit but was modified to fit what Non-chan imagined a uniform to look like. After Doremi was able to convince the others and the Queen, they were granted permission to cast magic and give her an Apprentice Witch form for the evening. Doremi had also gained permission to make Non a full-time apprentice, but this never came to fruitation.

File:3.4.12.08.JPG

This outfit comes in two colors, the girls signature color and a very pale accenting. The top is basic, with a ruffled neck and sleeves, while the skirt is a two layer petal wit hthe bottom four petals being the pale accent. The boots and gloves are one solid color with the cuff of each part being ruffled. The user does not gain earrings and the hat is plain, but with a sharp curved corner. The flap is pale in color. The magic device is a big orb that rests at the center of the chest.

Trivia

  • The earrings are the one thing to have never changed in the series when one does not count the addition of Fami.
  • Motto's tap is the only one that came in two parts, a bracelet and a ring.
    • It was also the only one that wasn't worn on the chest.
  • During the henshin, tiny glowing musical notes will appear when each part appears.
