Bio[]

Appearance[]

Majo Ririka is a fair-skinned adult witch with a thin frame. Her eyes are usually seen shut. She has long, pale brown-graying hair that is completely pulled back into a pair of thick ovals at the bottom of her head, held with bright brown nets; save for a single strand curling at her forehead. She wears a dark teal long-sleeved turtleneck dress with a light brown shawl around her shoulders and matching shoes. For each ear, she wears a big, gold loop earring, and at her chest is a big orange sphere, which may be her crystal ball.

In her witch attire, she wears a very dark blue single piece uniform with matching hat and a long purple-brown themed cape. On the chest is an orange gem, and her gloves appear to be purple-brown like her cape.

Personality[]

Majo Ririka is a very kind and friendly witch who is very knowledgeable, although rather forgetful and struggles to remember things sometimes. She comes off as air-headed or unconcerned over most things and seems to be in a good mood most of the time. But she is also very clumsy, which she claims to have always been.

It was shown that when she had to focus or realizes that Majo Rika is in trouble, she can be very serious and become stubborn; refusing to relent until she is able to get what she needs. She has made it very clear that no matter what, she would always love Majo Rika.

History[]

Centuries ago, Majo Ririka adopted a newborn baby witch whom she named Rika. She became a wonderful mother to Rika, and told her to always remember her mama, which Rika did even as an adult.

In Ojamajo Doremi #, the Ojamajos headed out to visit Majo Ririka after Majo Rika informed them of the witch who took care of herbs in the human world, in order to avoid paying the high-cost Dela offered them. The girls were disappointed to learn that Ririka no longer had any on-hand, as a hot spring was built in its place; however, they were welcome to her home to relax for a while before they left.

When the girls were finishing tidying the neglected hot spring baths, Hana suddenly got magical hiccups. Ririka told the girls that magical mint cures magical hiccups, and offered to help them find some for her in the wild near her home. The girls suggested Ririka stay behind with Hana and out of concern for her safety, and Ririka decided to try to communicate long distantly where wild magic mint grows. Suddenly Majo Rika also had gotten magical hiccups, and upon realizing that the witch frog was her daughter, she decided to go get the magic mint herself.

After a few hazards, they were able to locate the magic herbs and Ririka put together a remedy to give both to Hana and Rika. Rika admitted she didn't want to reveal who she was to Ririka because she felt shame that the baby her mother worked so hard to raise ended up as a witch frog. Majo Ririka then assured her daughter that no matter what form she takes she would always be her beloved daughter. Aiko pondered aloud what Majo Rika was like as a baby, which prompted Ririka to show the girls some of Rika's baby pictures.

From then on, Majo Rika would occasionally call for Majo Ririka to come to Mahou-dou to stand in as "Rika Makihatayama" in her place when a situation called for it, such convincing the girls' parents and teachers to allow them to continue working at Mahou-dou without question.
